MEXICO CITY: Viva Mexico!

The closer we get to the finals, the more intense do the teams work on their pitches for Friday’s finals.
Foro TV, a national channel from the largest Mexican multimedia mass media company Televisa, was at GESS in the morning. They did interviews with some participants and asked them about their projects. The GESS report will be broadcasted nationally at the TV program “Fractal POSiBLE” next Wednesday. So tune in – if you are able to find it 😉
A last reminder on the social impact of the solutions was provided by Dr. Jairo Nava, the director of the social entrepreneurship institute in Monterrey. Along with him were two Tec students Angelina Soriano and Graciela de la Cruz, who are going to New York next week to participate in the Hult Prize, the world’s largest student competition for social good. Angelina talked about the idea that they have submitted which aims at improving employment opportunities for Mexicans in less developed areas of the city. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for them! Angelina approached a couple of teams and challenged their ideas with tough questions which is exactly what they needed.
The initial plan to let the teams pitch again in the late afternoon was abandoned once it became clear that they need actual working time to revise their presentations. Thus we continued working until 6 and then it was about time to get engaged in the celebrations of the day of La Independencia de México.
Viva Mexico!
