It is the final day of GESS today. At 11 am the participants in Munich have to hand in their final presentations. Today, the seven teams will have to deliver two pitches – the first one in front of the jury, the second one in public. The teams are nervous, excited and train their pitches as much as possible. Of course our coaches are there to support them. In the evening, around 250 people show up in addition to the GESS crew (participants, organisation team and jury). To the surprise of the audience, two members of the band “Die Brücke” play two songs in between the ceremony: Ehab Fakhir and Abathar Kmash studied music in Damaskus and formed the group in Germany. After 5 minutes of debate among the members of the jury, the winner was announced: miHealth. The team of Brian, Sara, Ana, Farooq and Theresa want to tackle the health problems refugees are facing along their journey by developing an app that supports them finding the right treatment. Congratulations, guys! As a prize, the winning team is invited to participate in a conference organised by the Goethe-Institute next march in Berlin.
